Lockerbie · Founded 1877 · Reformed 1959
The original Mid-Annandale Football Club is founded in Lockerbie — one of the earliest organised clubs in the Dumfries and Galloway region. They soon establish themselves as one of the stronger county sides throughout the 1880s and early 1890s, reaching the final 16 of the Scottish Cup.
The original Mid-Annandale FC folds in 1894. Over the following years several unsuccessful attempts are made to re-establish a club in Lockerbie, leaving a long gap in organised football in the town.
After the end of the First World War a new Mid-Annandale team is reformed. In 1921 the Mids join the Southern Counties Football League and enjoy immediate success, winning the title in their first season and retaining it the following year — back-to-back champions in 1921–22 and 1922–23.
An invitation to join the new Third Division of the Scottish Football League is accepted. However, this ill-fated expansion of the league folded in 1926, leaving the Mids without a league home. They were eventually accepted into the Scottish Alliance League but the glory days had passed.
A crowd of 2,100 — still the club's record attendance — packs into the ground for a Scottish Cup tie against Queen of the South on 3 November 1923.
Mid-Annandale win the Scottish Qualifying Cup in 1926–27, and were runners-up in 1922–23. They also win the Southern Counties Cup in 1928–29, and enjoy a run of success in the Southern Counties Charity Cup in the early 1930s, winning in 1926–27, 1932–33, 1934–35, and 1935–36.
Despite some cup success in the early 1930s, the club eventually quits Kintail Park and uses various school playing fields. After a final decline they fold for good in 1936, bringing the curtain down on the second chapter of Mid-Annandale's story.
Football returns to Lockerbie with the formation of Lockerbie Boys Club FC — the direct ancestor of today's club. The new side enters the Dumfries Amateur Football League and builds a strong community following, eventually winning the league title in 1977–78.
Mid Annandale step up from amateur football and join the South of Scotland Football League, beginning a new competitive era for the club at a higher regional level.
After a period sharing with Annan Athletic at their Galabank ground, the redeveloped New King Edward Park reopens mid-season, giving the Mids a permanent home in Lockerbie once more. Capacity: 1,000.
Mid Annandale finish runners-up in the South of Scotland Football League — the best finish in the modern club's history. The Mids also win the Southern Counties FA Alba Cup that season, and again in 2019–20, as well as the Wigtownshire & District FA Cree Lodge Cup in 2018–19.
Craig Fraser is appointed first-team manager in July 2024, taking charge ahead of the 2024–25 season with captain Luke Hammond leading the side on the pitch.
